One of the most difficult escapes to devise is one that allows the audience
to actually WITNESS the entire escape. Especially if it is a BIG, SPECTACULAR
effect. Well, here it is: The Diamond-Plated Steel Box escape! First of all,
the “steel” (actually aluminum) box is FULLY EXAMINABLE, inside and out.
Spectators will find that the door locks closed three ways: First, the cargo
type handle has its own lock requiring a key. Secondly, a nylon-webbed cargo
strap with friction buckle adds to the security. Lastly, a Master Combo
padlock secures the door hasp to the side of the box. After they satisfy
themselves that all is fair (?), i.e.: THEY dial and unlock the padlock, test
the strap, and the door handle lock, etc., YOU then are HANDCUFFED, and
proceed to squeeze into the VERY TIGHT SPACE of the box! This itself usually
generates audience reaction. The spectator then locks you in: He uses the key
to lock the door handle, secures the strap and pulls on it to make it tight;
and lastly locks the padlock, and pulls on it to make sure it is secure.
NOW FOR THE ESCAPE: The audience listens as you work inside to free
yourself. Suddenly, they see the door handle move, and you FORCE the door
slightly open (about 1/2”) against the webbed friction strap. This is just
enough for you to force the HANDCUFF BOW (that you have escaped from) outside
of the box, and then use it open the friction buckle! Now the door opens to
the extent of the hasp: about two and a half inches—enough for you to squeeze
your hand out and reach the padlock! INCREDIBLY , YOU THEN PROCEED TO “PICK”
THE COMBO LOCK—SIGHT-UNSEEN! The door swings open, AND YOU ARE OUT! This
escape was recently a FEATURE on tour in Europe, and met with very
enthusiastic audience response. AND, IT CAN BE PERFORMED COMPLETELY
SURROUNDED! Performer must be in good physical shape. Created by Mark Cannon.
(Handcuffs not included).
The U.S. Special OPs are trained to withstand severe interrogation tactics in case of capture. But they are also trained in "E & E" (Escape and Evade) tactics. Famous (or perhaps infamous) in their training is the "Prisoner Interrogation Cell". On that premise, we bring you this brand new escape. With the appearance of steel, but in fact built of light-weight diamond plated aluminum, this beautiful cell measures 45 inches long, 23 inches wide and 25 inches tall. EVERYTHING IS CLOSELY EXAMINED. The ONLY way in and out is via the jail-bar caged door. That door is locked two ways: First, the "T" handle has a lock system that is secured with a key. However, a large, heavy-duty hasp is then also used to lock the door shut. That hasp integrates a combination lock system. When locked inside of the cell, it is impossible for the escapist to see the combination lock. After overcoming various manacles, or perhaps a mail bag (not included--as an example only) the audience WATCHES as the performer first somehow overcomes the locked "T" handle, and THEN REACHES THROUGH THE BARS AND BEGINS TO "PICK" THE COMBINATION LOCK BY FEEL ALONE. INCREDIBLY, HE SUCCEEDS, and makes good his escape! Remember: An actual audience member inspects everything, locks the performer in place, tests the security of both locking systems, etc. This is a nice variant to the Diamond Plated Steel Box--especially for those persons who are too large for that particular escape. This escape will work for most performers. As an example, a performer measuring 6'5", and weighing approximately 230 lbs. has recently performed this escape most comfortably, with room to spare. This escape breaks down for packing to a size of approximately 48" x 28" x 7", and weighs approximately 41 Lbs. Features two handles on each side. NOT FOR UNDERWATER ESCAPES - FOR STAGE ONLY.

Perhaps the most famous escape of all time. Originally created by Harry Houdini. You know the effect: The performer's ankles are locked into metal and wood-framed stocks. The stocks are attached to four chains which are in-turn attached to a rope and block and tackle system. He (or she!) is then hoisted UPSIDE-DOWN high into the air. Then, the escapist is lowered head-first into a water-filled, metal-framed, Acrylic Cell. The Cell measures approximately 6' tall, and 30" square. Quickly, assistants use padlocks to fasten the stocks to the top of the Cell, thus trapping the performer in the "watery tomb". While he and the audience hold their collective breath, a curtain is raised around the Water Torture Cell. Precious minutes go by as the audience awaits. Suddenly, after an appropriately frightful amount of time has elapsed, the performer bursts through the curtains--soaking wet--but alive! The curtains are dropped to reveal that the Cell is still completely locked up, just as it was at the beginning of the test. The perfect mystery.
This has been called the greatest escape and illusion of all time. The above dimensions are given as an example, but custom sizes are available. This fantastic escape features heavy-duty casters for mobility, and is available in three versions:
Note: Water Torture Cell comes ready to attach to your own block and tackle system. Curtain not included. You will be required to read and sign a Waiver of Liability prior to purchase. Because of custom sizes, frames, colors, etc., all Water Torture Cells are built to order with rapid turnaround times. Serious inquires please email for additional information regarding sizing, frames, etc.
Here is Houdini's classic escape: A large "Milk Can" made of galvanized steel is examined and filled with water. The performer is handcuffed and steps into the can. As he squeezes himself all the way down inside, the water dramatically displaces, and rushes up and over the top. Quickly, his assistant forces the lid onto the Milk Can, and snaps six Old English Padlocks through the six hasps to secure it in place. A clock starts, and a curtain goes up. Minutes go by and the audience grows restless. Finally, the drenched escapist comes crashing through the curtains--alive! The Milk Can is then revealed to still have its lid completely locked tight in place with all of the locks. Our Milk Can is made to look very similar to Houdini's original. In keeping with Houdini's 1908 Milk Can look, our Milk Can utilizes six uniquely "triangular" shaped hasps (custom made), six Old English Padlocks, and a slightly domed-shaped lid--just like Houdini's. However, as many escapists "in the know" realize, the original methodology of escape could be rendered dangerous through constant trouping and moving, and - sometimes - denting, thus creating a hazard. You'll be happy to know that although our Milk Can looks strikingly similar to that of Houdini's, the methodology of escape is SAFE! Note: You will be required to read and sign a Waiver of Liability prior to purchase.

HERE IS THE PERFECT MEDIA ATTENTION-GETTER. Imagine, you advertise that you will invite the news media to bring two of their own heavy-duty padlocks to your show this coming weekend. On that night, you will invite them, and spectators from the audience to THOROUGHLY EXAMINE A BEAUTIFUL, VARNISHED OAK BARREL. The top of the barrel is equipped with a wood and steel-reinforced hexagonal door. It features two large hinges, and two heavy-duty hasps. The underside of the barrel has a large "O" plate attached, which in turn, holds a pair of Smith & Wesson handcuffs. The barrel (and cuffs) can be inspected inside and out, bottom, top, WHEREVER. A spectator can even be locked into the barrel if they so choose. Doesn't matter. They cannot escape. Whenever they are done inspecting, you are immediately locked into the barrel (no need to be alone with the barrel before hand to do any secret work"). Your wrists are locked in the cuffs and so held fast to the underside of the lid. A curtain is then placed around the barrel (or use any other system to conceal the barrel from view). A short time later, you emerge, free of the barrel and cuffs! But incredibly, the barrel is still locked! Upon unlocking the lid, it is discovered that the cuffs are still locked to the lid.
Note: This is NOT an "instant" escape. Therefore, it is NOT designed for use as an "underwater escape"! It is, however, meant to be a reputation-maker, as it will be one of those "how in the world did he/she do it?" stunts. Leave this barrel on display in the lobby both before and after the escape, as it will pass inspection in either case. Or, bring it to the news media office and perform it for them right there! Great for generating PR.
Note: You will be required to read and sign a Waiver of Liability prior to purchase.
Same barrel as above, but mechanically designed for instant escape-making it perfect for use for underwater escapes. Even in this mode it will pass a moderate inspection.
Note: You will be required to read and sign a Waiver of Liability prior to purchase.
Remember the movie "Cool Hand Luke"? Specially designed and reserved for the "worst of the worst" prisoner is the SWEAT BOX! Constructed of heavy, unfinished plank wood, this PUNISHMENT DEVICE is barely large enough to allow the "prisoner" (escape artist) to even fit inside. And then once stuffed in, the very heavy door is SECURELY LOCKED SHUT THANKS TO AN AUTHENTIC, UNGIMMICKED JAIL LOCK. Yet somehow, some way, the performer escapes! And the door is still locked shut! Please note: THIS IS NOT A SUB-TRUNK, NOR DOES IT UTILIZE ANY TRADITIONAL "MAGIC METHODOLOGY". Thus, the escape is not instantaneous. But it IS designed to PASS THE MOST EXTREME, CLOSE-UP AND HANDS-ON EXAMINATION IMAGINABLE. Let the news media personnel climb inside WITH THE JAIL KEY and attempt an escape. Of course, they cannot, SINCE THE LOCK IS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR! Let them PHYSICALLY GRAB, AND ATTEMPT TO MOVE ANY PIECE OF WOOD, BOLT, HINGE, LOCK -- ANYTHING-- everything passes. Then have THEM lock the door and keep the key. All you need now is a little bit of privacy (curtain, inside another container, etc). With practice, you can be out in less than a minute with the Sweat Box COMPLETELY INTACT AND STILL LOCKED SHUT! IF YOU WANT SOMETHING VERY DIFFERENT, SPECTACULAR, AND A REAL STUMPER-No sweat! Go with the Sweat Box! The perfect PUBLICITY device.
Sweat Box plans available, if purchased with the necessary Jail Lock and components.
A BEAUTIFULLY CONSTRUCTED & STAINED WOODEN COFFIN, complete with turned handles and molding, is seen to be standing upright on the stage. Six Volunteers CLOSELY examine the casket inside and out. There are no trap doors, gimmicked hinges, etc. They discover two sets of handcuffs, and one pair of leg irons that have been permanently attached to the inside walls of the casket. The manacles check out to be secure. The performer enters the coffin, has his legs shackles in place, and his wrists manacled "R.I.P." style. The coffin's lid is then slowly closed, and squeaks as it does so. Next, three separate, 2" wide Nylon-Webbed Cargo straps that completely encircle the casket, are WINCHED TIGHT to secure the lid in place. The winches are the LARGE, HEAVY-DUTY type that are commonly used to secure items on the back of a Semi-Truck. (Incidentally, the Nylon-Webbing is also the same style used to secure, and lower a coffin into the grave). The spectators satisfy themselves that the lid cannot budge. The committee of SIX now become PALLBEARERS, as they lower the coffin into a horizontal position, and carry it over to a set of saw horses, where they lay it to rest in peace. Finally, a cover (such as a curtain) is placed around the whole affair. Eerie, funeral procession music plays, and the stage darkens with only (perhaps) a few candles for lighting, as the audience waits in anticipation. A few moments later, the escapist reappears, and the coffin is still completely secured shut!
This particular escape can be very dramatic, eerie, and mysterious. The pre-show publicity possible for a Halloween stunt is obvious. This one also rates very high on mystery, as the secret is a brand new idea for a coffin escape, and one that will defy your spectator's inspection. This escape can be highly theatrical in the correct hands. Consider lighting, music, costumes, etc. SOMEDAY YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO BUY ONE OF THESE ANYWAY, SO WHY NOT GET MORE THAN ONE USE OUT OF IT?
"The GREATEST HANDCUFF ESCAPE I have ever seen!"--World Famous Escape Artist STEVE BAKER--Mr. Escape.
The ULTIMATE PRESENTATION of a Handcuff Escape for the 21st Century! Volunteers inspect a pair of S&W Handcuffs, a Maximum Security Prisoner Transportation Blue Box and a clear Lexan “Strong Box” with steel bar and SIX padlocks* (Model A). The handcuffs are locked on the escapist’s wrists. The Blue Box is then placed around the cuffs, thus COMPLETELY SEALING OFF THE KEY HOLES! Next, his cuffed wrists are locked —via two wrist holes—inside of the clear strong box, using 4 padlocks. Lastly, a STEEL BAR IS LACED THROUGH BOTH THE STRONG BOX AND BLUE BOX AND THEN LOCKED WITH THE LAST 2 PADLOCKS! Even if he had the keys, he can not reach the cuff’s keyholes, nor the padlocks. IT TRULY LOOKS IMPOSSIBLE! Yet, shortly after a cloth is placed over the whole affair, the performer ESCAPES! And there in the center of the box, are the handcuffs and Blue Box, still suspended on the steel bar! NOT ONLY AN ESCAPE, BUT A COMPLETE MYSTERY!
The classic escape/illusion. The magician is handcuffed, tied into a cloth sack and then locked into a wooden crate-type box. His assistant stands on top of the box, and lifts a curtain momentarily to hide the box and herself. Instantly the curtain falls to reveal the now-free magician! He unlocks the box, and inside is someone tied inside of the cloth sack. He unties it and reveals his handcuffed assistant! She can even be wearing a different costume. The lid is a separate piece (not attached via hinges) and therefore is entirely removed from the box. The box is made of plywood and includes hasps and handles. Entire unit breaks down for packing. Sack, padlocks, handcuffs and curtain not included.
Note: A wooden shipping crate is available for purchase if desired.
The deluxe version of the classic escape/illusion. The magician is handcuffed, tied into a cloth sack and then locked into a wooden crate-type box. He unlocks the box, and inside is someone tied inside of the cloth sack. He unties it and reveals his handcuffed assistant! She can even be wearing a different costume. The box is beautifully made of individual pine planks and includes hasps, locks, handles and hinges. Polyurethane finish. The lid is attached via hinges, and thus opens and shuts like a door. Sack, handcuffs and curtain not included.
